Homework

In first grade I feel homework is important for the following reasons:

- it allows time to practice important and/or new skills

- it helps students with organization and time management skills

- it fosters independence, self-confidence, and responsibility

My homework program has been built around these basic principles.  I hope that homework will be a productive time in your household, and that it is done quickly and efficiently.  I know you will help me convey the importance of homework to your child, and provide a quiet time and place so it is successfully completed each day.

Students will receive their homework for the week on Friday and it will be due the following Friday. They have all week to complete their homework. We will have the following homework every week:

1. Spelling/Sight Word  (daily)

2. Reading (daily)
3. Math Worksheet
