Classroom Procedures

 Helping Our Classroom Run Smoothly

Students are expected to follow procedures to help our classroom run smoothly every day because every minute counts. I  expect students to be respectful of others by following all the rules.  Here are my classroom procedures that will be implemented and followed throughout the year.

 Hall Procedures:
Hands to the side 
All eyes forward
Lips closed 
Low speed 
 
Recess Procedures: 
1. Walk down the ramp until you reach the black top.
2. No jumping from swings, pushing swings, or walking between swings.
3. When the whistle blows, STOP and look up at the teachers.
4. Share equipment.
5. No pulling, pushing, or grabbing each other. 
6. No put downs or inappropriate language.
7. No climbing up the slides.
8. Do not pick up or play with mulch.
 
Lunch Time Procedures:
1. Students are expected to be courteous and use appropriate table manners.
2. Students may talk quietly with inside voices.
3. Food is not to be shared or traded.
4. Raise your hand and ask permission to get forgotten items or ask for help.
5. Be respectful of your fellow students and teachers.
6. Please clean up after yourself.
* There will be a peanut free table accessible for those students that need one.*
 
Restroom Procedures:
1. Only 1 student at a time.
2. No talking or playing in the restroom.
3. You must wash and dry your hands before leaving the restroom.
4. Use only two pieces of paper toweling.
5.  Any destructive behavior to our restrooms is an automatic visit to the principal.
 
Transition Procedures:
1. Students are expected to transition to the next activity quickly and quietly.
2. Listen to teacher's directions.
3. No talking during this time.
4. Put away all materials in their proper place.
5. Music may be played while students prepare their materials.
6. Students should have their desks ready by the time the music ends.

* Read a book.
* Work in writing binder.
* Practice spelling.
* Challenge Work.
* Printing practice.
