Welcome Back!!

Welcome to 2017!! It’s going to be a fabulous year!!
I was so excited to see all my precious kiddos on Wednesday! They are all so amazing and THANK YOU all for being such amazing parents! You are their first teacher and together WE GOT THIS! Our first few days back have been an energizing experience to say the least! With the two extra snow days and Christmas break, I think we were all ready to get back. We will spend the rest of the week getting reacquainted with our routines and procedures. I will mark in their behavior chart this week, but I will be using it more as a tool to correct behavior. Beginning next week, I will be sending home behavior notes for any student on warning or below.  I will also send notes for any student who ends the week on outstanding. Please keep an eye out for these notes, they need to be signed and returned.
Now that January is finally here its time to refocus and LEARN, LEARN, LEARN! We are going to keep pushing the students and expectations will be higher as the students work towards the end of the year.  However, before we get back into the full swing of things, we have quite a few assessments that will require completion. mClass will finally be open for us to begin on January 14. This is a long process, so I am hoping to get it out of the way such that we can get back into first grade curriculum.  Once the assessments are complete, I will be sending out a sign up genius for parent/teacher conferences. This would be a time to meet for any areas of concern that you or I may have.
Monday folders were sent out yesterday to clear out their mailboxes. Please make sure these are cleared out the next day and sign the sheet stating that the worksheets were reviewed. You may start to notice some worksheets with a red and green dot coming home soon. The red dot states that they got the answer wrong. The green dot means that the answer was corrected after reteaching. If you have any questions about this please feel free to email me.
I had three students turn in their 100 books chain!!! I am so excited. These were sent out in the beginning of the year, so I am hoping to get some more coming in. Please make sure to have your student read to you everyday! It is so important for them and it will make a HUGE difference with their reading comprehension.
